Q: What type of equipment do I need to receive on-site services?

 

A: The consumer will require one of the following: laptop, tablet, smart phone, or any Wi-Fi enabled device to view their captions. In certain cases the transcriber will have an extra reader device for the consumer to use per diem. 

Q: What will I require for remote services?

 

A: The consumer will require one of the following: laptop, tablet, smart phone, or any Wi-Fi enabled device to view their captions. It is recommended the device have an external microphone, or wireless lapel microphone to really capture the precision of what is being said. The consumer will also require a Skype or Google Hangouts login, and an internet conenction to initiate the voice call. .

A: We can add captions to any video you can provide:  YouTube, PowerPoint presentations, video conferences, etc.

Q: What type of microphone is best for remote transcription?

 

A: It depends on the situation. If the consumer is mostly interested in the speaker's words, a wireless lapel microphone is best. If the site has a lot of conversation between the speaker and the audience, an omni-directional type microphone is best. We can advise you on what would best suit your needs. .
